Legship lies on the route to several important towns and cities. The closest airport is Bagdogra airport and closest rail head is New Jalpaiguri. Kirateshwar Mahadev Temple

According to legend, warrior prince Arjun performed intense penance at this spot, where Lord Mahadeva appeared as a hunter named Kirat to test his skills. Arjun accepted defeat and received the divine weapon of Pashupatastra from Mahadeva.
The temple features a self-manifested Shiva linga as the main deity and also houses the deities of Devi Durga and Lord Ram. It attracts numerous visitors each year and is known for the Bala Chaturdashi Festival in November-December and the Shiva Ratri celebration in February or March.
